I was nervous going into the gym in December 2020 as I hadn’t been to a gym for approximately two and a half years. I was welcomed and put at ease right away. I didn’t stop there, with the support of the trainers I organised myself into sessions I wanted to complete and setting a realistic weight loss goal following a meal plan.
After following the advice and support offered by each of the trainers, I’ve found myself losing the weight gradually. Albeit challenging. The training sessions have pushed me to my limits, I struggled with these initially and now I’m finding myself doing much more than what I ever imagined I would be.
I feel proud to have achieved so much within a short space of time. I can finally wear my high waisted jeans with the button fastened, have a meal and still feel comfortable. It’s been an incredible feeling! This has been a massive achievement for me and I feel on top of the world. I can’t wait to see family and friends who haven’t seen me over these lockdown periods to have a double take. LOL.
Attending Transformation Fit has been a confidence booster, being greeted by a welcoming community and most importantly at my pace. I am so so grateful to be a part of the team. The trainers have a lot to offer and there are always creative incentive initiatives to keep you motivated!
The experience so far has provided me insight, you only become stronger by putting in the effort every single time to achieve the results you want. My journey isn’t over yet, I feel like I’ve only just begun. I’m eager to become stronger, lighter and much fitter. I know this is doable with the terrific trainers and the rest of the Transformation Fit community supporting me!

“I was a bit nervous about doing PT sessions as there is always the fear that you will have someone shouting in your face telling you what a miserable specimen you are. Fortunately, I struck gold and joined Transformation Fit just under a year ago.
All of the trainers are engaging, supportive and highly knowledgeable about the body both in terms of exercise and nutrition.By joining TF you also join a community of like-minded, friendly people who help and encourage each other to reach their goals.
Training is done in small groups of 5-6 and I can honestly say that they fly by and I enjoy each one. Within the TF community there are nights out, competitions and a very well resourced website with training videos, nutritional information and tips on mental health.
Overall TF has a fantastic atmosphere and helps you with not just a body but a mental transformation to become a healthier person inside and out. For me I have become stronger, have much better definition, more energy and have lost over 20lbs in weight.

I joined TF 3 1/2 years ago, I was feeling pretty down on my health. I wasn’t as fit as I used to be, had put on a few pounds and decided to try something different. I’d looked at a few different gyms, PTs and decided to give Transformation Fit a call.
I remember how tired I was often those first few sessions, but I also remember how welcoming the team were. How quickly I began to feel stronger. I hadn’t specifically gone with a weight loss goal but I began to notice my shape changing. My shoulders straightened, I stood taller & I felt better.
Coming to the gym now makes me feel amazing, not just physically but mentally. It’s the best cure for stress, I love swinging the sledge hammer or flipping tyres nothing makes you feel more in control.
I was so proud to be named member of the month, I’d set myself some fitness goals after last year, to drop some weight, complete a 75kg squat and run half a marathon. I’ve already smashed the half marathon and feel ready to go on my next goals.
One of the many things I love about TF is the community, the trainers are in your corner but so is everyone else in the gym. The team challenges really make you feel like you can do anything.
I’d recommend it to anyone thinking of getting fitter and stronger.

It wasn’t my idea to start with Transformation Fit and honestly I didn’t want to either. I was just fine the way I looked… right?
I’ve always been extremely active, it started from a young age. Hockey, horse riding, going to the gym. Loved being active and as a side note, I’ve never been thin. But then university happens, parties, boys, hangovers… you know the drill.
It slowly takes less of a priority till it stops. I also love to eat, going out for dinner, cocktails, Sunday lunches, the odd takeaway here and there… which eventually turned into the many takeaways and putting on a lot of weight. But everything was still fine… right?
Slowly but surely the weight-gain started to bother me, not enough to do something about it though. My husband (also part of team Transformation Fit) and I had tried multiple things over the years just to make an effort. Diets, T25, buying a spinning bike… etc. It worked for a while but the ‘shall we have a cheeky take away tonight started creeping back in and the spinning bike started gathering dust.
The point came where my husband was getting really down about his weight and he had found this place through instagram. Wasn’t sure, had a zoom call, sounded good but… (the usual excuse) let’s wait until lockdown ends. I still wasn’t interesting in being part of this losing weight journey, again.
Until September 2020 hit and I got dragged to this new gym on the promise that ‘let’s try the 28 days challenge’ if we like it we’ll stay, if we don’t we’ll quit’. I’d had personal trainers before and wasn’t too impressed but, as the lovely wife I am, I went along to support my husband (cause surely I wasn’t the one that needed to lose any weight…).
I was horrified when we arrived for our first session. There are more people here?! We’re working out in a group?! I thought you said this was personal training?! My worst nightmare. I didn’t want to be wearing tight workout clothes in my unfit state, struggling to keep up and have everybody staring at me. No way this isn’t for me…. Now I’m more than 10kgs (over 1.5stone) down and if I could wish for anything now, during this National lockdown, it’s for the TF gym to open again.
I absolutely love it! There’s no way you can’t live it. I have never felt so supported by the trainers, by the TF community and I’ve never felt this healthy in my life! No joke.
I would highly, highly, highly recommend anyone who is looking to get fitter, healthier and lose some weight to join this fantastic family. It has made my personal life better and my married life too.
It’s not even about the weight much anymore (but I can’t lie seeing the kilos/pounds coming off is an absolute joy!). It’s the good night sleep I’m getting, the clear skin and healthy hair, everything is just better when you feel good about yourself. (The moment you start needing new clothes cause old ones are too big… come on! Pure joy!)
It’s hard work, do not get me wrong, it’s bloody hard work! It’s also an emotional rollercoaster (you get that for free). But, it’s so unbelievably worth it, especially with the TF team behind you supporting you all the way! You put the work in and the trainers will equal that. It’s team work, you’re not on your own.
If you want to do something about your weight or health. Please consider joining the TF team. You really won’t regret it (and you won’t want to leave!).”

If I am honest, I joined Transformation Fit with a certain amount of cynicism. I guess I didn’t really believe in myself enough to foresee any kind of transformation. However, I walked through the door, joined the community and oh boy, I am glad I did. In a nutshell, my results speak for themselves. I found myself belonging to a non-judgemental, exceptional group of people from all walks of life, all ages and all with different abilities and goals. We can’t all be good at everything but astonishingly I found that I was actually good at some things. This was somewhere I could get used to! I did get used to it and the results just kept on coming, seemingly effortlessly. Although, inevitably we all have to work hard to get what we want by discipline followed by the little wins that we achieve along the way. Every little win counts. Initially, I was pathetic with the amount of weight I could lift but body weight counts for a lot too. I had never seen myself as a barbell, kettle bell or dumb bell kinda girl – but now I have them at home and utilise them during every zoom session under lockdown. Transformation Fit were not phased by any lockdown and maintained their client focus superbly by providing all sessions via zoom and redoubling support to all. An absolute god send especially when most other gym goers were sadly left reeling by the closure of their happy place. Two of the personal goals I set myself were to do a sit up (a proper sit up – not on the bed where it is easy to sink in to the mattress!) and a full burpee. Well, I am smashing through sit ups now – I actually have a core that I can see and it’s getting stronger! I am now doing full burpees and I am still working on my technique. The determination will pay off. We all agree that we miss seeing everyone in the gym. The camaraderie isn’t quite the same over zoom and we all long to get back in. I, for one missed seeing fellow trainers in the gym simply because resistance training was new to me and copying techniques of those around me was important. However, the trainers did not neglect anyone over zoom – no one could hide even if they wanted to and total support remains. Along with the unwavering support of the Personal Trainers where their attention to individuals is bespoke and relevant to their needs and wishes, the community support is something quite different to what I have experienced. Because the sessions are limited in size (max.8) the groups get to know each other and about each other’s journey. I singled out a couple of individuals by observing and using them as an aspirational bench mark. Although it is not wise to compare yourself to anyone else and only use your own measuring ruler, it doesn’t do any harm to aspire to something that has turned out for me to be realistic. I could never had imagined in my wildest dreams the difference. When I saw these pictures, I was alone in the street, it was Christmas Eve 2020 and I am not ashamed to say that I cried! In fact, I went up to a random stranger (both with our masks on and social distance maintained) and without explanation I just held out my phone towards him showing him the pictures – of course he thought I was a nutter, but I simply couldn’t keep the feeling of shock and amazement to myself. Let’s just say I was pretty pleased! The gym sessions and all activities connected with it are always being refreshed. The trainers give time to make sure that things do not get stagnant. I am used to preparing ever changing plans in my own work environment and I understand how tedious it can be to try to think of new ideas and routines – thank you for your everlasting energy and creativity. Transformation Fit also intermittently run challenges which have proven to bring out a little (or seemingly actually quite a lot) of a competitor in me. The challenges have been a great way to reapply myself with an interim goal in sight and of course, the hope of winning!!!! One day I will, although I was part of the Expedition winning team back in the spring 2020! The challenges have allowed me to make great use of my relentless walking and the kilometres have contributed to my team’s score. We all help and spur each other on – a bit of friendly competition and rivalry is always good and beneficial. Last but not least, nutrition is never neglected and meal plans are always forefront with ongoing support and education. This is supported by the knowledge of all at Transformation Fit; Josh, Rob, Nathan, Lewis and Sam who are all on hand to offer guidance and advice – on anything! I have set my own bar and now without thinking, it is part of my day. This is me now. It’s what I do…. Who’d have thought it!

I saw a friend’s before and after photos on fb and was stunned by the changes she’d achieved in a short space of time. I originally gave myself loads of reasons as to why it wasn’t for me – I’m too busy, I can’t dedicate that much time to getting fit, it’s too intimidating, I’m too tired after work, I should put my kids first etc etc… But I was unhappy with how I looked and how much weight I had gained after having two kids; I was lethargic, demotivated and suffering stress and anxiety with work. I’m an English teacher and at times it can be a very demanding and challenging job. I work a lot of hours and when I’m not working I’m looking after my two children. With my husband’s support though, I got the courage to come in for my orientation and I haven’t looked back.
Joining TF has genuinely changed my life – I dislocated my knee years ago and had always had recurring pain from that. I’d been a member of several gyms in Leicester and done mostly group classes like spinning, cardio combat and body pump. I enjoyed exercise but never stuck to it and wasn’t going regularly or seeing any results from the training. When I compare it to what I do now at TF, I can see why. I didn’t understand how important nutrition was, I didn’t have one to one expert advice about form/how to do the movement properly/lift the right kind of weight/push myself… I had also done Slimming World but eventually lost interest in that as I didn’t want to control my weight loss solely through diet – I didn’t see that as sustainable and I knew I’d just get thinner, not fitter. With TF, the advice I’ve had from Rob on nutrition has been incredible and it’s sped up my results significantly. It’s helped me be more knowledgeable about the foods/vitamins/minerals etc I need and I’ve radically changed my diet as a result.
I’ve now got to the stage where I’m the fittest I’ve ever been. I ran my first 5k parkrun which I never thought I could do with my knee, but by strengthening the muscles around my kneecap, I have absolutely no trouble any more from it. I have more energy; I’m happier; it’s like a weight has been lifted because I’m happy with myself and how I look. People notice all the time and comment on how healthy I’m looking which just spurs me on more. It’s not about being thinner for me but about being fitter, stronger, having a better physique.
I’ve also made a huge number of friends and love the community spirit of TF – it’s like no other gym I’d ever belonged to. I love training in small groups and have benefitted from the support, encouragement and social element that’s missing when you train alone. TF’s events also keep me motivated and keep the enjoyment element in exercise. The Winter Olympics was my favourite – I achieved much more than I thought I ever could and loved the extra level of hype and energy in the gym during the two weeks of group competitions.
I always want to get to the gym and never see it as a chore like I used to. Now exercise is built into my lifestyle and it’s something I’ve managed to maintain for nearly 10 months now. It’s sustainable and a lifestyle change I want to keep up. I’m proud to be a role model to my kids who are welcome in the gym any time and have come along to the family-friendly events, seen me train and now see exercise as an integral part of life which can only be a positive thing.
For how it’s changed me physically, my body shape has changed; I’m much stronger; I’ve got more muscle definition and dropped about 2 stones – can you check what the weight loss is as I cant remember (I’m now 65.3) – waist is 80cm – dropped 3 dress sizes! I also sleep better and one major effect I didn’t foresee is that I feel like I can cope much more easily with any challenges at work or in life because I’m in a good place both mentally as well as physically.”

I joined Transformation Fit in August 2016. I’d previously been hospitalised with sepsis and pneumonia and my muscles were weak, I was out of shape and didn’t have much confidence in my appearance.
Jack and Rob have trained me over the months and given me nutritional advice to help build my strength and trim up my body. Their encouragement and dedication to pushing me during the sessions have been fantastic and along with the other lovely clients I train with, I never want to miss a session! In January I set a goal (well, Jack set it. You don’t have freedom of choice ) to lose one and a half stone and I achieved it!!

Eighteen months ago I joined Transformation fit after ten years of not being as active as in my younger days, several pounds heavier and lacking in fitness.
Suffering from Asthma my breathing capacity was reducing and the doctors warned me that I was in danger of developing COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
I owe a huge thanks to the team at Transformation Fit for the remarkable difference in my health today.
With an easy to follow diet plan and two training sessions of 45 minutes a week, I have transformed my body and health.
I’m now 7.5KG lighter, my breathing capacity is improved beyond recognition and I managed to run 5km in 22 minutes which I could NEVER have done 18 months ago.
I want to give a big thanks to the members of the team that train me for all their hard work and constantly pushing me beyond where I believe I’m capable of.
For anyone thinking that at age 45 they are not in the shape they feel they should then get yourself down to Transformation Fit, you will not regret it!!

I’ve been utterly impressed with what the team at Transformation Fit have been able to achieve in 3 months. Of course I’ve had to turn up and put the work in, but they’ve made it welcoming, enjoyable, interesting and challenging every time I train.
They’ve tailored the workouts and diet to what works for me and delivered some excellent results. It’s fair to say that I’m quicker, leaner, stronger and fitter than when I joined. As a guy that did half-marathons, went to the gym every day and kick boxing twice a week, that’s a pretty impressive feat. My goal when joining Transformation Fit 3 months ago was to try and shift some of my uni weight. I didn’t expect to be going back to uni over a stone lighter and looking so much better! After enjoying my 21 days so much I decided to stay for 3 months and it was the best decision I ever made. I wouldn’t look and feel how I do now without the constant help from Rob, Jack and Josh.
I may have been killed off every session but they pushed me to limits and weights that I didn’t think I was capable of reaching but did. I am 10 times stronger now than I was before and so much fitter and I couldn’t have done it without the help of my trainers. I was made to feel so welcome from day 1 and the sessions were always enjoyable and different which is definitely what kept me interested.
My time with Transformation Fit was great and truly worth it for the results that I have come out with and I hope to come back again after graduating from university in a years time.

Couldn’t have asked for more likeable or motivating personal trainers. I spent a long time frustratingly struggling with my weight and not noticing the effect it was having on my personality and mood. After speaking to Transformation Fit a diet plan was agreed which helped me cut down around 3 stones of fat before even looking at a gym. Transformation Fit introduced me to the gym and introducing me to weight lifting, I really started to shred fat and see the results. Going to the gym is now one of my favourite hobbies too!
After approximately 8 months I went from 19 stone to just over 13 stone, which is astonishing and shows great credit to the care and attention Transformation Fit paid to my diet and training. Over a year later I will still regularly seek advice from Transformation Fit and now live off the principles which they taught me, which in turn has helped me to keep in a much more healthy and energetic state. Very professional, personal training at its best. We had a nutrition plan which was based around what we like eating and our individual eating habits. I could see results in a short space of time and became more active and had more energy and was no longer feeling sluggish at the end of the working day, this meant I could still give my kids the active dad they needed each evening. I’ve suffered with a back and a knee injury for many years, not helped by working off ladders on steep roofs, or in confined loft spaces. Last September I started working with your colleague, Jack, to improve my fitness with specific regard to strengthening these two areas.
We are now 9 months into the fitness program, and I am very impressed with the results. I have not had a problem with either my back or my knee in all this time, and have in addition greatly improved my general fitness levels.
Your training sessions, combined with sticking to a better diet, slightly less alcohol (!), and more cycling in my own time have also resulted in me losing no weight at all, but still losing 2 inches from my waist.
Your gym sessions have yielded far greater results than I would have thought possible from only 1 or 2 hours attendance a week and I would certainly recommend you to other friends and colleagues.

Dear Josh,
Well, I am now 9 months into my training and nutrition regime with you , and wanted to update my testimonial as the results just keep on coming! To think thats what’s been achieved has happened with only 2×45 minute sessions per week has amazed me!
Total weight loss now stands at 25lbs, just shy of 2 stones and I have taken 6.5 inches off my waist. I’m continuing to get stronger, hitting new personal bests in the weights I’m lifting, being very close to hitting 1.5x my body weight on the main compound movements.
Equally amazing though is the change in my physique, which without a doubt is the best shape its ever been in! And to think that I’ve achieved it in just 9 months , having not managed to do it in the preceding 30 years despite all my best efforts to do so.
I have to give massive thanks for the help, guidance, support and encouragement that both, Jack and yourself have given me enabling me to achieve what I have so far.

So I just wanted to say a big thank you to Josh Rylatt at TransformationFit who helped me prepare for Fit Factor At Bodypower (a bikini fitness competition). Given that we only had 8 weeks in the end and I had barely hit the gym all winter it was pretty tight. I have to admit I was pretty sceptical in the beginning, & was not the easiest client. Josh completely changed my training plan & diet over 8 weeks. Trebled my carb intake upped my calories by 350 per week & cut me to 4 days training per week, in the first 10 days I lost 2lbs. Over 3 weeks I went from 62 to 59 kilos & stayed steady at that for the rest of the time. I competed on Saturday at 59 kilos and had a noticeable increase in size and definition from the time we started. Calories were reduced gradually over the time & I was never hungry once. Normally it would take about 16 weeks to prep for a contest but I was over the moon with the results I got in just 8 weeks & will certainly be continuing. I’m planning to compete in Wbff London later in the year & will be getting my ass into gear well in advance next time.
I’ve been training & playing sport most of my life and I can honestly say that the training I’ve done with Josh has really made me re-think what I was doing. Josh really knows how to get the best out of you to achieve a result. He kicks your ass just at the right time & knows when to back off as well. Especially during HIIT training, which I bloody hate BTW!!! I don;t think I’ve ever been so embarrassed in my life failing miserably at belting a tyre with a sledgehammer. I was close to bawling at one point tbh!! But I felt about ½ a stone lighter afterwards.
The training program was very different to what Id been doing but I have to say hit each body part to maximum effect. The nutrition plan he designed was excellent. A clearly laid out plan, told me exactly what to eat, how much & when to eat it. He used all the foods I love eating, I was never hungry & always felt strong in the gym.
I’ve always been very concerned about following wacky diets that seem to be the norm in the world of body-building and fitness contests. Having suffered with an autoimmune disease in the past, I simply will not take chances with my health & would not even attempt some of the complex carb-cycling diets that I know some people follow. Achieving the sculpted look gives a tremendous sense of achievement but its not worth ending up in hospital for imo.
I have quite a small frame & not overly muscular but in a very short space of time I could see noticeable changes in my body. Had a bit of trouble holding some water the last couple of weeks but we sorted that out the week before the show. I haven’t had any official photos back from fit factor yet but will be posting as soon as I do.
I really want to thank Josh for putting up with me over 8 weeks & I can honestly say I trust his judgement all the way. I would strongly recommend anyone wanting to lose weight, compete or maximize their game in any sport to get in touch with him. You will definitely get the results you’re looking for! At size 16 I knew I didn’t want to be fat, so in August 2013 I started a macro based diet with Josh’s support. For a girl who was on a 1200kcal diet for months, and was scared from carbs it was a massive change. The diet is custom made depending on what food you like and enjoy, so it’s very easy to follow and it turns into a whole lifestyle change.
Josh is very helpful, supportive and ready to answer every question. By the end of September I was down to size 10 and now I’m size 8 which I have never been before. Personal training sessions with Josh are not easy, and sometimes you find strength even if you think you can’t continue your exercise anymore, and that’s really great. He is always there to help and support you on your journey.

Transformation Fit have been great trainers and motivators. Before I started with them I was size 16 and weighed over 11 st. I had chronic back problems, eczema and IBS. They worked out a sustainable eating plan and showed me how to train and build my back muscles up. I now weigh just over 8 st. and wear a size 8. My back problems are virtually non existent. My eczema has cleared because of clean eating and my IBS rarely flares anymore. My strength continues to grow. I always look forward to training with them, they’re so positive and encouraging.

I absolutely loved training with Transformation Fit! I was a size 16/18, suffered with asthma from a young age and totally unfit (couldn’t even step up on a block without struggling!) Since I started training with Transformation Fit I’ve gone down to a size 10, haven’t used my inhaler in god knows how long and can leg press 140kg! My sessions were so hard but fun at the same time, my trainer is a guru of knowledge when it comes to training and food and is always giving helpful tips! He straight away noticed I had issues with my back when I didn’t even realise it myself and rightfully diagnosed it as well! My nutrition was tailored to fit me and my busy life and it included popcorn, eggs, bacon and chocolate! Perfect! Impressive service you would be a fool not to snap them up! Thanks for everything!

Training with Josh throughout the off season was thoroughly enjoyable and beneficial. His professionalism and knowledge in strength and conditioning was evident, and was portrayed in an easy manner to understand. I felt comfortable asking questions about the training and diet that he gave me, of which was very helpful in achieving training goals and improving recovery. Specifically, I became stronger across all compound lifts which transferred to my sprinting speed and acceleration on the pitch. The conditioning sessions were sports specific and enabled me to start the season at an optimal fitness.
The diet was varied but easy to follow, with everything broken down in to individual portion sizes to prevent me having to worry about it. The pre and post training meals were particularly good as I felt that they let me have more productive sessions and recover quicker.
Since training with Josh, I got in to the Scotland Women’s Rugby Squad, leading towards the Six Nations Championship at the start of 2014. I plan to train with him again at the end of the season as he is a reliable, enthusiastic coach.
