It can be hard to stay focused on a diet and keep active when working at a desk for long periods of time, it can be easy to snack on convenience foods, drink too many hot drinks and have a slice of the cake a colleague has just brought into the office, all these will have a negative effect on your weight loss and health. A few simple adjustments can make all the difference:
– Meal Prep: Possibly the simplest but most effective tip, preparing your meals a day or more in advance will stop you from going to the most convenient foods, such as ready meals, crisps, biscuits etc. Which are all high in calories. Preparing healthy nutritional meals will keep your cravings and your calories low.
– Walk or Cycle To Work: If you are not active during work, why not compensate by increasing your activity before and after.
– Making Most From Breaks: When on a break from work, get some air, walk around outside for a while. Not only will this increase your activity and burn more calories, but it will also increase your heart rate, getting blood flowing around your body and increasing oxygen consumption will give you more energy and you will be more focused when you get back to your job.
– Remove The Snack Box: Pretty self explanatory, but keep away from the snack box! We have all taken too many snacks, oblivious to doing it. The easiest thing to do is just take the snack box out of the office.
